FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORE COUNSELING
Academic Planning and Resume Building: Students may begin working with us as early as freshman year for assistance with academic planning and resume building. On the academic front, we can offer advice on course selection, tutoring services, and test prep. On the extracurricular front, we can help students explore school and community activities, summer programs, and community service projects that may be in line with their interests. For students who haven't yet found their niche, we can help them identify an interest outside of school and work with them to develop and implement a plan for cultivating that interest, such as chartering a new club at school or organizing a service project.
FULL COLLEGE CONSULTATION AND COUNSELING PACKAGE
Full Service Counseling: A comprehensive counseling program that begins when the student signs up and follows them through senior year. It encompasses academic and extracurricular planning, a test prep plan, college list generation, overseeing all aspects of college application process including essay writing assistance, recommendation planning, student resume and ‘brag sheet’ development, counsel regarding application timelines and choices (including Early Decision, Early Action, Rolling, Priority, and Regular Decision plans) and mock interview preparation. K Squared only accepts a limited number of clients for this service for each graduating class. Sign ups begin in the summer before freshman year. This is a package program, billed in installments, with no hours counted or billed.
TARGETED COLLEGE APPLICATION SUPPORT
BCP Evaluator™ College List Development: K Squared will work with the student to develop a realistic college list utilizing the BCP Evaluator™, the preeminent method for organizing a college list. This system realistically projects a student's admission chances across a spectrum of colleges mapped by selectivity standards. The empirical data used in the evaluator are calculated from 20,000 admissions statistics from recent incoming freshman classes. Data inputs are updated yearly. Service is billed as a set session fee.
Essay Brainstorming and Editing: A service for students who want assistance with specific aspects of their main essay or supplemental essays. This service is designed for the student who just needs a jumpstart for the essay development process or would like editing suggestions for draft essays. Service is billed on an hourly basis.
